Jeffrey Mayer, Chairman
Westport resident since 1993. Chairman of Solomon Energy Inc., an advisor to municipalities and other large energy consumers on renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies such as solar, cogeneration, battery storage, geothermal and LED lighting.
After a brief career as a lawyer with the firm of Barrett Smith Schapiro Simon & Armstrong, New York, Mr. Mayer served as chief counsel to the J. Aron Commodities Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he later managed its Energy Futures Division. Prior to joining Solomon Mr. Mayer served as President and CEO of MXenergy Inc., as a Managing Director of AIG Trading Corporation, and as Chairman of AIG Securities Corporation and of AIG Clearing Corporation.
Mr. Mayer also serves on the boards of the International Institute of Connecticut, an agency providing resettlement services to immigrants and victims of human trafficking and torture, and Kingsley Trust Association, an educational foundation.
Mr. Mayer served as a member of the Westport Board of Finance from 1997-2009 and as Chairman of the Board from 2005-09. From 1981-1987 Mr. Mayer served on the Board of the Hieronymus Foundation, a non-profit corporation supporting choreorgraphy and dance, and from 1995-1997 on the Board of the South Shore Music Festival.
Mr. Mayer received his B.A. in 1973 from Yale University, and his J.D. from New York University Law School in 1978.
